Dance minor| Minor
Lake Erie College's Dance Minor is meant to provide students with a fundamental understanding of dance as an art form. Students interested in adding this specialized art to their portfolio have the option of adding this minor to their undergraduate studies.
Required Classes for the Dance Minor
Students pursuing a minor in Dance at Lake Erie College must take 17 semester credits, including the following classes:
DN 201 Ballet Technique II (1 or 2 Semester Hours)
DN 202 Modern Dance Technique II (1 or 2 Semester Hours)
DN 213 Dance History (3 Semester Hours)
DN 216 Anatomical Kinesiology (3 Semester Hours)
DN 230 Beginning Composition (3 Semester Hours)
DN 301 Ballet Technique III (1 or 2 Semester Hours)
DN 302 Modern Dance Technique and Theory III (1 or 2 Semester Hours)
DN 401 Ballet Technique IV (1 or 2 Semester Hours)
DN 402 Modern Dance Technique and Theory IV (1 or 2 Semester Hours)
In addition, students must also take their choice of 2 semester credit hours from the following courses.
DN 200 Body Wellness (2 Semester Hours)
DN 210 Repertory and Performance Technique I (2 Semester Hours)
DN 310 Repertory and Performance Technique II (2 Semester Hours)
DN 325 Methods of Teaching Dance (3 Semester Hours)
DN 410 Repertory and Performance Technique III (2 Semester Hours)
